New NHSE Guide Link
The General Practice Pay Transparency collection for the 2023/24 financial year is now live. If you are a GP or senior practice role holder and your total NHS earnings exceed £163,000, you are required to self-declare your earnings by 30 April 2025.
This annual declaration is part of NHS England’s ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in general practice. Don’t wait—check if you meet the threshold and take action if required.
Who Needs to Self-Declare?
You must self-declare your 2023/24 NHS earnings if:
-
You earned more than £163,000 from NHS sources
-
You are engaged in a contractual general practice role (e.g., GP partner, salaried GP, or other specified roles)
-
You meet the additional conditions detailed in NHS England’s guidance
📘 Review the full General Practice Pay Transparency 2023/24 Guidance for a complete explanation of the requirements.
What If You Earned Less Than £163,000?
✅ If your total NHS earnings in 2023/24 were £163,000 or less, you are not required to take any further action.
There is no need to submit a declaration unless your NHS income exceeds the threshold.
What Counts as NHS Earnings?
“NHS earnings” include all income from:
-
GMS, PMS, and APMS contracts
-
PCN-related payments

-
Additional NHS-funded roles or services
Refer to the guidance for a complete list of inclusions and exclusions.

If you are above the threshold:

Access the NHS Pay Transparency declaration portal (link available in the guidance)
-
Log in using your credentials
-
Submit your NHS earnings declaration for 2023/24
