NHS Resolution have created additional materials to help beneficiaries understand what is covered under each of their general practice indemnity schemes.
- The GPI reporting flowchart outlines when a claim should be reported to them or the relevant medical defence organisation (MDO), and whether the incident is covered by either the Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practice or the Existing Liabilities Scheme for General Practice. This visual provides a clear reporting pathway which should be referred to, along with the scheme FAQs, when a potential claim has arisen to indicate the next steps.
- Alongside this flowchart, they have also published an animation advising the conditions covered under our CNSGP scheme, accompanied by a list of exemptions. This shows the situations in which we are and are not able to provide cover, and who to contact.

These new and updated resources provide easily accessible and clear guidelines so if an incident does occur, the process to begin resolution is clearly defined.
