NHS England has reminded practices this week that prescription and drug reimbursement claims must be submitted using a GP prescriber number. Drug reimbursement claims must not be submitted using a pooled list code. A pooled list code is issued for the purpose of holding a practice’s patient list against a central code and is not a prescribing code. This notification relates to the use of pooled list codes in respect of drug reimbursement only.
We would add a reminder that you can use the code of any GP and not just a Partner. You can not use the code of any other prescriber.
We are finding a number of practices with unpaid flu claims because the form was submitted under the pooled code.
