An amendment to the GMS Statement of Financial Entitlements (SFE) has been published that sets out payments for the selective MMRV catch-up programme, which runs from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2028.
Under the programme, practices offer an MMRV dose to children born between 1 January 2020 and 31 August 2022 who have no history of chickenpox and have not had two doses of a varicella-containing vaccine.
The payment detail to know about is for the first two months. During November and December 2026, fully automated payments are only available for children aged 5 and under at the time of vaccination.
If you vaccinate a child who is aged 6, you’ll need to make a manual adjustment to your total in the Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS). Commissioners will tell practices if any additional evidence of vaccination is needed, and will then agree the adjusted total with you. No other MMRV payments are affected.
Because the eligible cohort starts at children born in January 2020, some of those attending in the early weeks will already be six, so this is likely to come up.
Worth doing now: make sure whoever submits your CQRS claims knows about the manual adjustment for six-year-olds in November and December, and that your vaccination records are clear enough to provide evidence if commissioners ask for it.
