The deadline for submitting staff lists for the 2026 General Practice Staff Survey (GPSS) is 1 September 2026. This isn’t optional: GP practices and PCNs delivering primary medical care services under NHS contracts are required to submit staff details as part of the 2026/27 GP contract requirements.
The survey itself doesn’t run until later – 5 October to 27 November 2026 – but the staff list has to be submitted well ahead of that, via the sampling portal, so the sample can be drawn from an accurate and up-to-date list.
If your practice or PCN hasn’t submitted yet, this is worth actioning now rather than leaving until the last week of August.
