QoF QI workforce wellbeing – Psychological Safety

Dr Charlotte Hilton, a contributor to our recently launched QoF QI Workforce Wellbeing Handbook, frequently speaks to the importance of psychological safety at work as a key success factor to wellbeing.

On Wednesday 6 September 2023, the Safety and Learning team hosted an interactive virtual webinar on stress claims, findings and recommendations from the Being Fair 2 report on just culture and the benefits of creating psychological safety.

We were joined by Sarah Hall from NHS Devon ICB who reflected on the experience and challenges of developing a general practice nurse legacy mentorship programme.

Samantha Thomas, National Safety and Learning lead for General Practice reflected:

Psychological safety is one of the foundations needed in managerial relations which in turn underpins staff wellbeing, staff turnover, recruitment and retention which impact on patient safety and care delivery. The forum brought together staff from across the health system and attendees reported finding the session useful and informative.
